This Sunday, Chevon Taylor opened our December series, “The Table,” by reminding us that throughout Scripture, God meets His people at the table. Jesus identifies Himself with the hungry and the stranger, God sets a table in His dwelling place, Jesus sits with sinners and the early church breaks bread as an act of devotion. Again and again the table becomes a place of encounter.

Chevon spoke of Jesus’ radical hospitality, a Savior who doesn’t wait for us to come to Him but chooses to come close, to sit with us, to share life with us. As we move toward celebrating His birth, we’re invited to open our tables the way He opened His life: with welcome, grace and room for others.

This season, may our tables reflect His heart, places where people are seen, loved and met by the presence of Jesus.
